Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Technician I to join our team at Northern Light Acadia Hospital. As a key member of our inter-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily activities and provide emotional support as needed.
  • Monitor patient intake of food and fluids, and assist with feeding as required.
  • Accompany patients to appointments and therapeutic activities, promoting a sense of community and connection.
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly, adhering to our policy and procedure guidelines.
  • Facilitate patient participation in milieu activities, encouraging engagement and socialization.
  • Recognize changes in patient status and report to charge nurse, ensuring timely interventions and support.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to co-facilitate groups and provide individualized support.
  • Attend report at change of shift and team meetings, sharing relevant information and insights.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with substance abuse populations preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry, a plus.
