Senior Production Planner Buyer

Job Summary:
Oakley, Inc. is a sport and lifestyle brand driven to ignite imagination through the fusion of art and science. We are seeking a Senior Production Planner Buyer to plan and execute the department's plan for product introductions in Manufacturing. This role interacts with internal partners, including marketing, engineering, and manufacturing, to understand material and demand requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Analyze and plan material requirements for various eyewear categories, including active eyewear.
- Build and foster supplier relationships to ensure completion deadlines are met per master sales forecasts or customer orders.
- Manage inventory levels to maximize manufacturing production plans using data and systems.
- Review and coordinate MRP suggestions to support MPS timelines.
- Partner with Planner Buyers to create purchase orders to support MPS requirements and production goals.
- Expedite critical supplier orders that can have significant delays and/or financial losses due to unforeseen conditions.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local and overseas suppliers to ensure best value, highest quality, and timely delivery for optimal inventory levels in support of production plans.
- Prepare procurement reports for Management teams using available data.
- Lead and/or participate in lean activities, including Consignment Inventory and Kanban Inventory.
- Partner with NPI teams to support/lead Table of 4 project initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Business, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in Production purchasing and/or planning and MRP in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years in procurement and managing strategic purchases with a proven record of improvement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Experience with SAP MM, PP, and BW.
- Factual and data-driven decision maker with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software applications, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
- APICS CPIM and/or CPM certification.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
Compensation:
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
