POSITION OVERVIEW

The Electrical Operations Supervisor, possessing a Master's Electrical License, plays a crucial role within the electrical division, assisting the Electrical Manager in directing and overseeing all electrical functions across the organization. This role demands extensive knowledge of electrical systems, a steadfast commitment to safety, and exceptional leadership capabilities to guarantee the effective and compliant management of electrical operations.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  1. Aid in the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality benchmarks.
  2. Remain informed about electrical codes, regulations, and industry practices, ensuring the organization maintains full compliance. Provide guidance to the team regarding regulatory standards.
  3. Mentor and lead electrical personnel, fostering a culture of safety, excellence, and ongoing improvement. Offer technical support and direction to team members.
  4. Promote a safety-first culture and ensure that all electrical tasks are performed with the utmost attention to safety standards and procedures.
  5. Assist in the development and management of budgets for electrical operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness while upholding quality and safety standards.
  6. Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve electrical challenges, system malfunctions, and other technical issues promptly and efficiently.
  7. Maintain comprehensive records of electrical projects, maintenance tasks, and compliance documentation, ensuring all records are current.
  8. Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors of electrical equipment, negotiating contracts and procuring materials at competitive rates while ensuring quality standards are met.
  9. Be prepared for emergency situations and coordinate urgent electrical repairs, minimizing disruption and ensuring the safety of all personnel.
  10. Utilize your Master's Electrical License to provide expert advice and guidance on complex electrical matters, installations, and repairs.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in supervising a team of up to 5 employees.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A Master's Electrical License is essential.
  2. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  3. Previous experience in electrical management or a comparable leadership position.
  4. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  5. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  6. Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  7. Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  9. A strong commitment to safety and compliance with safety standards.
  10. Proficiency in electrical design and project management software.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in planning methods, materials, and tools for project completion.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Paylocity, and Ungerboeck is advantageous.
  • Intermediate math skills (ability to calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.).
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on an on-call basis, as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Duties are primarily performed in an office environment. The role involves operating a computer and standard office equipment, such as telephones and copiers. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift or move items weighing more than 20 pounds. Environmental conditions may include exposure to wetness/humidity, working near mechanical parts, working at heights, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and risks associated with electrical work.
