Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrician to join our team at Tri-City Electrical Contractors, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical wiring duties in a job site setting with relatively little supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, and other technical documents to ensure accurate installation of electrical systems.
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools to complete electrical connections.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components to ensure proper functioning of electrical systems.
  • Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical components, equipment, or systems to ensure compliance with National Electrical Codes.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects, while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation, and tighten connections using hand tools to ensure electrical safety.
  • Direct work of employees with less experience and assist these individuals as needed to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements, and report violations of policies, procedures, and guidelines to the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
  • Minimum four (4) years of electrical construction experience with an Active Florida Journeyman Electrician License.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations to calculate labor, materials, and/or cost estimates for projects and work orders.
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Codes and all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules, and safety.
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical construction materials, including gear, fixtures, and commodity items.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual.
  • Active Florida Master Electrician License.
  • OSHA 10.
  • Completion of an indentured apprenticeship program.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
  • Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Ability to wear company-approved Personal Protective Equipment per local, state, federal, or OSHA regulations.
  • The employee must frequently lift and move items a minimum of 25 pounds, occasionally lifting and/or moving objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to perform physical duties listed above for extended periods.
  • This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/printers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • This job operates in an indoor professional office or job site environment. May work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to various extreme conditions while at various locations.
  • Employees will be exposed to moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phones, printers, and light traffic).
