Job Summary

This position is located at the Office of Departmental Equal Employment Opportunity, where we strive to create a workplace that is inclusive and respectful of all employees. Key Responsibilities
  • Exercise direct supervision over a Division staff of professional administrative and clerical support staff and technical supervision over complaint processing and adjudication personnel in headquarters, and field offices.
  • Conceive, develop, plan and implement policies, procedures and guidelines for the most efficient management and operation of systems for investigating and adjudicating individual complaints, class complaints, and allegations of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and intimidation by employees and applicants for employment.
  • Provide advice and/or consultant services to EEO Officers; Discrimination Complaint Managers, managers and supervisors on the many and broad problems concerning EEO, and provides training in complaint processing and adjudication.
Requirements
  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

  • Applying equal employment opportunity and diversity and inclusion laws, regulations, Executive Orders, court decisions, policies and procedures.
  • Conducting training regarding the interpretation and implementation of equal employment opportunity programs and other nondiscrimination laws.
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines on how to handle equal employment opportunity complaints efficiently.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
