Primary Care Physician

This role is integral to the medical team at the center, focusing on the provision of preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic care. The physician will ensure high-quality service delivery and oversee the work of any mid-level providers under their supervision. Engagement in quality enhancement initiatives as directed by the medical leadership is expected.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver thorough outpatient medical care, including health assessments and management of medical conditions, with appropriate follow-up on identified issues.
- Manage both acute and chronic health conditions, coordinating care plans with behavioral health providers when necessary.
- Facilitate referrals to internal and external resources for additional services as required.
- Prescribe medications as needed for patient treatment.
- Provide clinical guidance to fellow providers within the organization as required.
- Supervise mid-level providers delivering medical services, as assigned.
- Oversee medical students during their clinical rotations, as assigned.
- Ensure precise, timely, and comprehensive documentation in medical records.
- Maintain effective communication with clinical support staff for follow-up, including informing patients of test results.
- Deliver clear verbal and written communication to patients, guardians, and staff.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours patient care, as assigned.
- Evaluate the costs and benefits of potential actions effectively.
- Ensure that clinical policies related to health services are up-to-date and accurate.
- Valid medical license to practice in the State of Kansas and/or Oklahoma.
- Graduation from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of residency training in the relevant specialty.
- Board Certification in the relevant specialty.
- Preferred experience in community or public health.
- Dedication to serving underserved populations.
- Cultural and social sensitivity to a diverse patient and employee demographic.
- Understanding of the principles of effective patient care.
- Ability to communicate through appropriate channels and follow the proper chain of command for patient concerns.
- Calm and effective handling of emergency situations.
- Proficient in computer usage, particularly Microsoft Office and electronic health records.
- Ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and other healthcare team members.
- Commitment to providing customer service aligned with the organization's mission.
- Courteous and respectful interactions with patients and their families.
- Adherence to patient confidentiality in compliance with organizational policies and HIPAA regulations.
In this role, the employee will frequently sit or stand, utilize hands for various tasks, reach with arms, and communicate verbally. Occasional lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds may be required. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Personal protective equipment is provided as necessary.
SALARY INFORMATION
Starting salary is $200,000, with compensation based on experience.
