POSITION OVERVIEW

This role is integral to the healthcare delivery team. The incumbent will be tasked with providing preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, patient education, and referral services within the center. Accountability for the quality and delivery of all services rendered by the physician and any supervised mid-level providers is essential. Participation in quality enhancement initiatives as directed by the medical director is expected.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Deliver thorough, comprehensive outpatient medical care, including health assessments and management of medical conditions, with appropriate follow-up for identified issues.
  2. Manage both acute and chronic illnesses, ensuring routine care is coordinated with the patient's behavioral health provider when necessary.
  3. Facilitate appropriate referrals to internal disciplines or external agencies for additional required services.
  4. Prescribe medications as necessary for the treatment of medical conditions.
  5. Provide clinical guidance to other healthcare providers within the organization as needed.
  6. Supervise mid-level providers tasked with delivering medical services, as assigned.
  7. Oversee medical students during their training, as assigned.
  8. Ensure accurate, timely, and clear documentation in medical records.
  9. Maintain appropriate follow-up with clinical support staff, including communication of test results to patients.
  10. Communicate effectively in both written and oral formats with patients, guardians, and staff.
  11. Participate in an on-call system for after-hours care and inpatient services, as assigned.
  12. Evaluate the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
  13. Ensure that clinical policies related to health services are current and accurate.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Possession of full medical licensure in the State of Kansas and/or Oklahoma.
  2. Graduation from an accredited medical school.
  3. Completion of residency in the relevant specialty.
  4. Board Certification in the relevant specialty.
  5. Preferred experience in community or public health.
  6. Commitment to serving underserved populations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  1. Demonstrated social and cultural sensitivity suitable for a diverse patient and employee base.
  2. Knowledge of effective patient care rationale.
  3. Ability to communicate through appropriate channels, adhering to the proper chain of command for patient concerns.
  4. Capacity to manage emergency situations with composure and effectiveness.
  5. Proficiency in computer use, particularly with Microsoft Office and electronic health records.
  6. Ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and other healthcare team members.
  7. Commitment to providing customer service aligned with the organization's mission.
  8. Maintain courteous and respectful interactions with patients and their families.
  9. Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and HIPAA regulations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit and/or stand, use hands for manipulation, reach with arms, and communicate verbally. The employee may occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Personal protective equipment is provided as necessary.

SALARY INFORMATION

Starting salary is $200,000, with compensation based on experience.
