We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Supportive Living Specialist to join our team at the Mental Health Association - Western MA. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with brain injuries.

About the Role

This 18-hour position, working Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 9a-3p, requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing supportive and safe living environments for our residents, promoting their growth, independence, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate and interact with participants in a respectful, enthusiastic, and encouraging manner, promoting self-esteem and empowerment.
  • Assist, teach, or monitor participants in various activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry, ensuring their upkeep and involvement.
  • Adjust support levels according to participant needs, performing other duties as assigned or necessary.
  • Empower participants by teaching self-advocacy skills and facilitating access to community resources.
  • Provide transportation to participants for medical appointments, social engagements, and vocational opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assess participant abilities, interests, and needs to develop Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
  • Respond to emergency situations according to MHA, MRC, and DDS policies.
  • Report incidents of participant abuse or neglect to agency management and relevant authorities.
  • Document progress, maintain accurate records, and complete program documentation within specified timelines.
  • Utilize online agency reporting systems, internet-based applications, and required training programs.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals with brain injuries or similar populations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Able to lift, transfer, and provide total care as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to MHA's Core Values.
What We Offer
  • An estimated salary range of $35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
