Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Specialist I, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Attending clinical and staff meetings to develop treatment plans and re-evaluate case needs and goals;
  • Maintaining accurate and timely client records in accordance with standard format and timetables;
  • Providing direct care and support to individuals, including assistance with ADL (activities of daily living) skills and promoting their independence;
  • Representing the dignity of each individual and promoting their human and civil rights;
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support services;
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • An associate's degree or bachelor's degree in a human service field is preferred;
  • At least one year of experience working with psychiatric clients is preferred;
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving history;
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish are preferred;
  • Availability to transport individuals or perform other supportive services as necessary;
