Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at H-E-B. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for driving business plans and strategies into day-to-day implementation and action plans, while ensuring an optimal customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct work flow cross functionally across the entire store, ensuring seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Solve common and complex business, customer, and partner issues within established guidelines, recommending appropriate variances and changes in alignment with business strategy.
  • Ensure business decisions align with company expectations and maintain store conditions to create a safe, clean, and unobstructed shopping experience for customers and a positive work environment for partners.
  • Manage store security, handle issues as they occur, and work with store security and local law enforcement to minimize store theft and disruption.
  • Supervise the maintenance team, including training, coaching, evaluating performance, and ensuring store conditions meet high company standards.
  • Monitor conditions, report, document, and track all store maintenance issues, facility, and equipment, acting as point person for maintenance and construction vendors.
  • First responder to equipment issues, proactively troubleshoot, and investigate the nature of the issue, ensuring simple solutions have been exhausted and root cause analysis has been explored.
  • Address customer incidents relating to product safety or quality, and identify shrink opportunities, taking immediate action to correct them or reporting issues to management.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of Central Market University (CMU) training.
  • 3-5 years of proven management and leadership experience, with a combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to independently prioritize issues quickly and manage time and resources appropriately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across a multi-department environment.
  • Ability to work without supervision and make independent decisions that reflect a strong understanding of the business and protect business interests.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret documents related to store operations, food safety and sanitation, and equipment maintenance.
