Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at CHI St. Anthony Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care to patients in various settings, including emergency, neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, and critical care. You will work under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and Department Director to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Administering respiratory care procedures as ordered by physicians, with a focus on specialty areas such as emergency, neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, and critical care.
  • Monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, and performing patient assessments.
  • Providing airway management, including bag/mask ventilation and assisting with intubation as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete documentation of respiratory care procedures.
  • Verifying physician orders and communicating with nursing and medical personnel to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participating in department meetings, in-services, patient care rounds, and mandatory hospital meetings.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest respiratory therapy instruments and equipment, and performing troubleshooting and problem resolution as needed.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from a four-year AMA-approved School for Respiratory Care.
  • A passing score on the NBRC entry-level examination.
  • A current Oregon RCP license in good standing.
  • A current AHA BLS certification.
  • A current AHA PALS, ACLS, and NRP certification within three months of hire.
