Position Overview

We are in search of a proactive, innovative, and quality-focused Fire Protection Engineer with a minimum of five years of experience to enhance our team of experts. Our office is committed to developing the right candidate in this expanding field.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about their profession, eager to collaborate with a high-performing team, and seek an environment that fosters professional development. Your responsibilities will include conducting smoke control assessments, performing special inspections, analyzing fire-resistant construction, designing automatic suppression systems, and developing fire detection, alarm, and mass notification systems. Additionally, you will engage in life-safety code analysis, egress assessments, and general fire protection research.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring in-person attendance three days a week, with the option to work remotely for two days. The remote workdays are currently designated as Thursday and Friday, subject to periodic review.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute positively to the office and department's goals, culture, and morale.
  • Utilize essential computer skills for daily tasks, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and fire dynamic simulation software.
  • Manage daily interactions with internal and external clients, employing experience and technology to meet their expectations.
  • Conduct research and prepare documentation for both internal and external purposes.
  • Evaluate existing fire protection systems and design new systems, including suppression and detection systems.
  • Interpret and assess building and fire codes.
  • Develop project management skills for overseeing both internal and external projects.
  • Engage with local and national professional organizations, such as SFPE.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certification such as NICET level III/IV, EIT, or PE.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and/or Revit.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with fire protection engineering modeling software.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Active participation in professional organizations.
  • Experience in building and fire code analysis.
  • Expertise in designing fire protection systems.
