Clinical Therapist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinician to join our team at the North Slope Borough, AK. As a Clinician, you will provide high-quality psychotherapeutic services to clients, working within the scope of authority and adhering to Federal, State, Medicaid requirements, and CARF business standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to clients, observing their conditions and behavior, and reporting significant issues to supervisors.
- Consult with supervisors routinely and as needed, following direction from designated supervisors.
- Work as a team member with program counseling, clinical, and administrative staff to provide a continuum of care.
- Assure accurate and timely documentation of client services within program policy.
- Identify and report abuse and neglect to appropriate state entities within required timeframes.
- Screen and evaluate Behavioral Health clients, provide treatment planning and care coordination, and maintain contact with active clients to ensure clinical needs are met.
- Provide case management and referral services to Behavioral Health clients, families, and significant others.
- Plan and conduct community outreach programs, workshops, and discussion groups to promote health education, risk reduction, and healthy behavior.
- Provide effective crisis intervention services, including crisis assessment and counseling, coordination of crisis stabilization, and implementation of individualized crisis management plans.
- Masters Degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Two years of clinical work experience, including utilization of DSM 5 and ICD-10.
- Ability to work successfully with children, youth, adults, and elders.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, other Borough employees, and representatives from other agencies.
- Demonstrated work experience using PC and common electronic software applications.
The North Slope Borough offers a comprehensive benefits package to all permanent full-time and permanent part-time employees who work at least 15 hours a week. This includes health care at no cost to the employee, major medical, preventive care, vision, dental, and prescription drug benefits.
