Job Summary:

The Lead Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the Interventional Radiology department. This role requires a strong understanding of radiology procedures, patient care, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the radiologist, nurses, and other staff members to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Interventional Radiology team, ensuring that all procedures are performed safely and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure that patient care meets the highest standards.
  • Collaborate with the radiologist and other staff members to develop and implement new procedures and protocols.
  • Provide education and training to staff members on new procedures and equipment.
  • Ensure that all patient records are accurate and up-to-date, and that all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide input on budgeting and resource allocation for the department.


Requirements:

  • Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology - Required
  • Bachelor's of Radiology Science or related science or healthcare education - Preferred
  • BLS- Required
  • Current Arizona Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)- Required
  • Registered Radiology Technologist-ARRT- Required
  • ARRT (VI) - Required within 18 months of hire
  • CVRT- Preferred
  • General radiology technologist 1 year in hospital setting- Required (3 years experience - Preferred)
  • Cardiac Catherization/Vascular/Interventional Radiology minimum 2 years- Preferred
  • Experience in hospital Trauma 1 and Trauma 2 environment - Preferred


Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and to stand for long periods of time. The work environment is a hospital setting, with exposure to radiation and other medical hazards.
