Position Overview

The Garrett Companies is looking to recruit a Full-Time Construction Site Manager.

The primary responsibility of the Site Manager is to ensure the effective execution of site-specific activities essential for the successful completion of construction projects.

This role encompasses a variety of tasks, including project scheduling, financial forecasting, budget management, scope definition, and inventory oversight.

At Garrett Construction, we foster a culture where every team member contributes actively, embodying an 'all hands on deck' mentality to enhance operations, resolve issues, and provide support as needed.

It is crucial for the Site Manager to conduct regular site inspections, maintain awareness of daily operations, and monitor the activities of subcontractors, visitors, and material deliveries.

All associated administrative and reporting responsibilities necessary for effective project management are also expected.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate all construction-related activities for the entire project.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with the Project Management Team to ensure the overall success of the project.
  • Guide field personnel to complete the project on time, within budget, and with high-quality workmanship that meets the established plans and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain the project schedule, supervising progress until final completion.
  • Identify potential challenges and propose realistic solutions to the Project Management Team to uphold the construction timeline.
  • Conduct inspections or direct inspections of all contracted work to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and local regulations.
  • Coordinate and schedule all necessary municipal inspections in accordance with local requirements.
  • Manage the scheduling and coordination of utility companies related to the project.
  • Facilitate site testing and inspection efforts as agreed upon with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers to ensure that necessary materials are reserved and deliveries are coordinated with suppliers.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all personnel at Garrett Companies, the design team, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and relevant municipal representatives.
  • Promote safety on the job site, encourage safe work practices, and address any hazards immediately.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and by mentoring others.
  • Prepare and submit Daily Reports documenting weather conditions, field status, workforce details, project progress, and any incidents.
  • Coordinate weekly meetings with subcontractors.
  • Provide bi-weekly progress reports to the Project Management Team.
  • Participate in and help facilitate Monthly Progress meetings with the Project Management Team and relevant subcontractors.
  • Offer training and education to field personnel as necessary to ensure project success.
  • Maintain an organized job site and construction office.
  • Encourage a positive work environment that supports the professional growth and development of team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities

Report directly to the Director of Construction.

Collaborate closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers for each active site.

This team maintains constant communication to effectively manage projects through to completion.

All other duties as assigned by The Garrett Companies.

Requirements
  • Proven experience managing multiple multi-family construction projects.

Travel Requirements

This position involves fieldwork at active project sites within a designated region.
