Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Director to lead cross-functional project teams at Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend Refinery in Rosemount, MN. This position will be responsible for efficiently implementing value creation and sustaining capital improvements to meet specific business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple capital projects, including small fast-paced micro-projects, using a Principled phased gate approach to ensure quality and competitive performance.
  • Lead project teams consisting of engineers, operations, construction, and vendors to ensure all aspects of the project are properly considered.
  • Effectively manage costs and schedules to drive competitiveness and achieve best-in-industry results.
  • Develop comprehensive project execution plans with a focus on scope, cost, schedule, risk management, and partnering with engineering, procurement, and construction capabilities.
  • Communicate capital project status to various stakeholders within the organization.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience with earned decision rights to create value in a project management environment.
  • Leverage business and project execution knowledge to recognize opportunities for value creation and innovation in project management work processes.
  • Support turnarounds and infrequent urgent business needs may require weekend and evening hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Project Management/Construction Management or related field.
  • One year of experience involving projects in refining, chemical, or a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years or more project work experience in a refinery or petrochemical environment.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
