We're looking for an experienced System Safety Engineer to join our Systems Safety team in California or Montreal. In this role, you'll be responsible for analyzing safety aspects of our aircraft design, identifying hazards, and developing mitigation strategies to ensure our product meets airworthiness regulations.

About the Role

This is a hybrid work opportunity, requiring 3 days on-site at our office and flexibility for the remainder of the days. As a Systems Safety Engineer, you'll develop the System Safety Plan, manage implementation, and coordinate activities with our engineering program management team.

You'll also define safety targets using airworthiness regulations and guidance material, such as 14 CFR 23.1309, and develop safety mitigation strategies. Your experience working with ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-254, and other similar standards will be invaluable in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with at least 8 years of experience in systems safety engineering; or Master's degree in engineering with 6 years of experience
  • Previous experience leading technical teams and excellent communication skills
  • Understanding and experience with design safety engineering principles for safety-critical systems
  • Experience working with TSOs, MOPS, RTCA, SAE, and other certification/performance standards
  • Basic knowledge of FAA certification processes and design of vehicle systems to formal requirements

Compensation and Benefits
