Overview

ASKA is an innovative air mobility company that specializes in developing cutting-edge electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicles.

This position as a Flight Control Engineer is based at our facility in Mountain View, CA. You will be part of a forward-thinking engineering team responsible for designing and developing the ASKATM A5, a roadable electric VTOL vehicle.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerodynamics and Control Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing flight control and navigation algorithms, including linear analysis and non-linear analysis;
  • Designing and analyzing tools, and conducting mathematical modeling;
  • Performing navigation and control system analysis and optimization;
  • Executing flight data analysis, developing documentation of all facets of work performed, and providing flight test support;
  • Troubleshooting navigation and flight control anomalies via flight data analysis, correlation with flight software operation, and generating corrective actions;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

This role requires expertise in classical and modern control theory, aerodynamics, aircraft performance, and flight controls. Additionally, proficiency in 3D CAD software, Solidworks, and Siemens NX is required.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Flight Control Engineer;
  • Proficient in C++, MATLAB, Python, and other relevant programming languages;
  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering;
  • Strong understanding of AI integration into Flight Control systems.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$160,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
