Overview

Sentara Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Hand Surgery team in Norfolk, VA. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient care and administrative tasks, including phlebotomy, clinical duties, and clerical responsibilities.
  • Work directly with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, take vital signs, and verify patient information.
  • Assist with electronic medical records and maintain accurate patient data.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting or as an EMT, Paramedic, and/or Corpsman preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience and electronic medical records experience preferred.
