Job Title: Medical Assistant and Surgery Scheduler

Actalent is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant and Surgery Scheduler to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. As a Medical Assistant and Surgery Scheduler, you will play a critical role in the success of our ENT clinic, providing exceptional patient care and ensuring seamless surgery scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate surgery scheduling with the scheduler, print lab orders, and provide instructions to patients.
  • Notate radiology orders that need to be scheduled and log them for tracking.
  • Send tasks to the office nurse for items that cannot be done in clinic, such as additional patient records and FMLA paperwork.
  • Perform scanning as able, contributing to efficiency.
  • Set up and assist with minor in-office procedures.
  • Process instruments.
  • Provide office nurse with end-of-day log summary: new surgery patients/dates, referrals needing scheduling, paperwork packets, and other follow-up items.
Requirements:
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant and surgery scheduler.
  • Experience with ENT/Allergy (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel to Virginia Beach locations as needed.
