This program is anchored at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a distinguished 525-bed trauma center and the primary teaching hospital for EVMS. Recognized as the leading hospital in Virginia, our medical center serves a vast patient population. The Virginia Beach - Norfolk region, the largest in Virginia, stands to gain significantly from our comprehensive plastic surgery offerings.

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a proficient plastic surgeon to join our expanding team of Plastic and Reconstructive surgeons. This role encompasses a wide array of procedures related to Hand and Peripheral Nerve Surgery, including upper and lower limb reconstruction, elective surgeries for both adults and children, and various nerve surgeries. Ideal candidates should possess a strong interest in limb preservation and be eligible for a Certificate of Added Qualification in hand surgery. Academic Environment: Our integrated residency program has recently received approval for expansion and is rapidly growing, alongside a diverse team of surgeons. The EVMS Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery includes faculty from various institutions, dedicated to delivering clinical excellence, research, education, and leadership. Our mission is to provide outstanding patient care, train future Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and achieve national recognition. With a rich history in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, there are numerous research and educational opportunities available. Collaboration with esteemed organizations enriches the academic environment. An academic appointment at EVMS will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and academic accomplishments. The position is open for Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor roles, with various leadership opportunities in clinical, administrative, and academic areas based on prior experience. A vision for establishing a collaborative hand and peripheral nerve program is highly encouraged, with preference given to candidates interested in clinical research.
