General Manager Job Summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our Admirals Club Lounge team at American Airlines. As a key member of our Eurest Management team, you will be responsible for the overall operation and cost-effective management of this busy airport lounge, ensuring team achievement of financial goals and guest satisfaction targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a food and beverage operation effectively, with a focus on attention to detail and exceptional guest service.
  • Take ownership of the operation, ensuring timely service and adherence to established timelines.
  • Interact professionally with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers.
  • Conduct management meetings, ongoing training and development efforts, and manage by walking around.
  • Audit units to ensure conformance with company, government, and accrediting agency standards, regulations, and codes regarding food storage, preparation, sanitation, and record keeping.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus five to seven years of directly related experience.
  • Good knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing, and presentation.
  • Contract-managed service experience is desirable but not required; previous GM experience in restaurant or hotel food and beverage is a must.
  • Supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with emotional intelligence, accountability, and commitment to the team.
  • Ability to communicate on various levels, including management, customer, and associate levels.
  • Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational practices.
  • Systems savvy, with comfort using business systems (MS Office, reporting).
