About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician to serve as the Chair of our Rheumatology Department and lead our clinical research program. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, conducting research, and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care and lead a team of rheumatology providers
  • Conduct substantial and meaningful research in the field of rheumatology
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in rheumatology and related fields
  • Develop and implement clinical research programs and protocols
  • Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to advance patient care and research
Requirements
  • MD, MD/PhD, DO, or international equivalent terminal degree
  • Eligibility for medical licensure and clinical practice in the state of Louisiana
  • Proven record of administrative and academic leadership abilities, as well as a demonstrated commitment to education, mentoring, and clinical research
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong record of scholarly achievement and extramural funding
  • Demonstrated leadership and accomplishments in complex organizational environments
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with learners, faculty, healthcare teams, administrators, community organizations, and donors
