Cardiac Perfusion Specialist

As a Cardiac Perfusionist, you will play a critical role in the cardiac surgery team, responsible for setting up and maintaining the heart-lung machine and monitoring patients during open-heart procedures. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, providing technical and clinical support to the perioperative care team.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and maintain the heart-lung machine and monitor patients during open-heart procedures
Provide technical and clinical support to the perioperative care team
Participate in orientation and continuing education to maintain knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of perfusion
NYS perfusion licensure or eligibility for licensure
Ability to handle mechanical equipment and instruments with manual dexterity
Work Environment:
This role involves working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and physical injury. You will be required to work in a team environment, communicating effectively with colleagues and patients.
Physical Demands:
This role requires moderate pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, standing, walking, stooping, and reaching. You will be required to work in a standing position for extended periods and be able to lift and move equipment as needed.
Supervision:
This role is supervised by the Cardiac Surgery Section Chief, Director of Surgical Services, and Perfusion Coordinator. You will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to achieve the goals of the cardiac surgery team.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is $99.59 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
