About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Grant Management Specialist to join our team at Southern Methodist University. As a key member of our research administration team, you will be responsible for providing pre-award and post-award support to research faculty and staff in Dedman College.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with proposal development, budget preparation, and submission to external funding agencies.
  • Provide guidance on research administration policies and procedures, including compliance with federal guidelines and university regulations.
  • Manage and track research grants, including budgeting, reporting, and closeout procedures.
  • Collaborate with research faculty and staff to identify funding opportunities and develop strategic plans for securing external funding.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external funding agencies, including negotiation of awards and resolution of issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; minimum of three years of experience in grant management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines related to research administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, with strong organizational and time management skills.
