Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Grants and Contracts Specialist, Pathology to assist researchers in proposal development and submission. This role will monitor, review, and reconcile grants and contracts project budget and expenditures. The successful candidate will advise on post-award spending and commitment activities, oversee compliance related to fund and revenue, and develop financial reports supporting project status. This position will also interpret complex institutional and government policies for project personnel and guide other staff in interpreting these policies.


Responsibilities
  • Assist researchers in proposal development and submission by interpreting and ensuring adherence to sponsor and university announcements and guidelines.
  • Negotiate and process awards, interpret award conditions, obtain approvals for award modifications, and complete required reports.
  • Provide guidance to researchers on post-award spending and commitment activities, and oversee compliance related to fund and revenue.
  • Develop and communicate financial reports supporting project status to P.I.s on a regular basis.
  • Interpret complex institutional and government policies for project personnel and guide other staff in interpreting these policies.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related field and four (4) years' experience in business or public administration with emphasis on customer service in financial or contracting position.
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) designation preferred.
  • Applicants without the stated degree, but with significant additional professional applicable experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
