Behavioral Health Services Director

UNM Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Behavioral Health Services to lead our team in providing exceptional healthcare services and improving patient outcomes.
Job Summary:The Director, Behavioral Health Services will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the day-to-day integrated clinical operations of assigned ambulatory clinic(s). This includes developing and implementing strategies, policies, protocols, and systems that improve operational productivity, efficiency, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, organize, and manage integrated clinical operations to ensure the maintenance and parity of day-to-day behavioral health operations.
- Manage daily behavioral health operations, including establishing work priorities, overseeing workflow, and assisting in the resolution of issues.
- Supervise and train staff in performance of programmatic and administrative activities.
- Participate in development and management of operating budgets and ensure fiscal practices follow appropriate policies and procedures.
- Provide direct supervision, including hiring, clinic orientation, scheduling, discipline, performance evaluations, training, work allocation, staff competencies, and problem resolution.
- Collaborate with departments to optimize behavioral health billing and collections.
- Work with quality team to implement best practices in quality process for behavioral health services.
- Diagnose or evaluate mental, emotional, and substance use disorders of individuals and administer programs of treatment.
- Treat psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments utilizing various psychological techniques.
- Conduct individual therapy programs and perform a range of direct assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention for individual patients, groups, and families.
- Document and/or oversee the documentation of therapy in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records.
- Doctorate or terminal degree in Psychology, and completion of Pre-doctoral Clinical Internship.
- At least 7 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- State of NM Licensed Psychologist, or eligibility for NM licensure, as documented by out-of-state licensure.
