About the Role

Haven Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team of healthcare professionals.

Job Summary

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will provide direct patient care to patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse while maintaining a safe and efficient working and treatment environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to patients as assigned, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Carry out all aspects of patient care and other assignments as directed by the Charge Nurse.
  • Observe patients and the treatment environment to ensure active treatment is provided and patients are participating.
  • Respond to patient requests and report changes in patients' condition or behavior to the Charge Nurse/RN.
  • Intervene in behavioral crisis situations and provide support to patients who require assistance with daily activities.
  • Report factors that may impede successful accomplishment of the treatment plan to the Charge Nurse/RN.
  • Provide patient education and facilitate educational/activity groups as assigned.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any concerns to the Charge Nurse/RN.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of acute inpatient experience with psychiatric care preferred.
