Veterinarian Career with Competitive Salary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our team at Petco. As a Hospital Veterinarian, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care and improving the lives of pets and their owners.

Key Responsibilities:- Provide Excellent Patient Care: Perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat diseases, and provide preventive care tailored to each patient's needs.
- Surgical and Dental Expertise: Conduct routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory surgeries, and mass removals, as well as dental procedures such as full dental examinations and extractions.
- Document Patient Information: Accurately document patient observations, findings, treatments, and diagnoses in the medical record.
- Veterinary Degree: Possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Licensure and Certification: Hold active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located or be able to obtain it by start date. Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License (if applicable) also required.
- USDA Accreditation: Meet USDA Category I accreditation requirements or complete within two months of hire date.
- Communication and Teamwork: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, be compassionate and sympathetic, and maintain a professional attitude in stressful situations.
The majority of job duties will be conducted in our modern veterinary hospital. This role requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing for extended periods. You will work closely with clients and their pets, making this a rewarding and dynamic position.
Salary:$120,000 - $150,000 per year
