Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. As a key member of our hospital staff, you will provide top-notch patient care, collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless operations, and contribute to the growth of our practice while upholding the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent patient care through physical examinations, diagnoses, treatments, and preventive care tailored to each pet's needs.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans based on thorough problem-based assessments, utilizing diagnostic tests and expert judgment to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient observations, findings, treatments, and diagnoses in medical records with precision and detail, adhering to established practice conventions.
  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratories, mass removals, and dentals.
  • Conduct day hospitalization transitions, communicate effectively with referral hospitals, and ensure continuity of patient care.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
  • Current DEA license.
  • USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
  • Must be comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries, including canine and feline spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Compassionate and sympathetic attitude, with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor during emotional and stressful situations.
Work Environment

The majority of job duties will be conducted in our Vetco Total Care full-service hospital. This position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing for extended periods. A significant amount of time will be spent interacting with clients and their pets.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

This salary range is estimated based on national averages for veterinarians in similar positions and locations. Actual salaries may vary depending on individual qualifications, experience, and other factors.
