Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Medical Leader to lead our veterinary team in providing top-notch medical care and outstanding customer experience. As a key member of our hospital leadership team, you will be responsible for mentoring and coaching veterinarians, driving medical quality, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the hospital veterinary team and partner with the Hospital Office Manager to provide cohesive and collaborative leadership
  • Mentor and coach veterinarians to drive continuous improvement in clinical skills, client communication, and team collaboration
  • Drive hospital commitment to medical quality, including compliance with Petco Medical SOPs and all applicable laws and regulations
  • Conduct veterinarian candidate interviewing and onboarding
  • Create veterinarian schedule, identify potential gaps, and partner with Hospital Office Manager and field leadership to correct
  • Closely monitor hospital performance, identify areas of opportunity, and drive business results through exceptional quality of care and client communication

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
  • 1-3 years minimum of clinical veterinary experience
  • Experience mentoring and coaching veterinarians preferred
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state in which the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date
  • Current DEA license
  • Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable, in the state in which the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date
  • USDA Category I Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date

Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 per year
