Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shop Helper to join our team at DXP Enterprises. As a Shop Helper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general shop duties, including cleaning and organization of the workspace
  • Assist machinists with various tasks and projects
  • Set up and prepare machines for production
  • Load and unload materials from machines
  • Move parts and equipment as needed
  • Maintain and upkeep of the shop, including equipment and tools
  • Operate a forklift and overhead crane safely and efficiently
  • Sweep and mop the shop floor
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a shop or industrial setting
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read tape measures and levels
  • Experience operating a forklift and overhead crane
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
Working Conditions
  • Shop environment with exposure to machinery and equipment
  • Lifting up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including day and night shifts, and overtime as needed
