JOB SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse in Outpatient Medical Oncology is responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care in alignment with established clinical standards and practices.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Manage incoming calls, addressing inquiries related to medications and treatment protocols; facilitate prescription refill requests as per physician guidelines.
  • Administer prescribed treatments and medications, adhering to nursing standards; monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any adverse reactions to the physician.
  • Provide educational support to patients under physician supervision, clarifying information regarding diagnostic tests and treatment plans.
  • Perform wound care in accordance with clinical protocols.
  • Administer and oversee IV fluids and medications as required.
  • Execute Medical Assistant responsibilities as necessary, in line with the relevant job description.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Team-oriented approach to patient care.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Completion of an accredited nursing program or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

No prior experience required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia.
