Job Description:
Harris Geospatial Solutions is in search of a Senior Operations Manager for our Manufacturing sector. This pivotal role will be based at our facility and will report directly to the Site Director. The chosen candidate will be responsible for formulating strategies and overseeing the implementation of production initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance scheduling, workforce allocation, material management, and equipment utilization to achieve production objectives.
- Employ lean manufacturing methodologies to streamline production line operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in alignment with 5S principles.
- Oversee a production team, currently consisting of five members, with plans for future expansion to cover additional shifts and increase team size.
- Coordinate daily with Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure seamless production operations.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to assess internal operational controls.
- Communicate objectives and action plans clearly to the team, driving towards successful outcomes.
- Address and resolve any issues that may arise on the production floor.
- Travel for business purposes may be required, up to 5% of the time.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations is required. Alternatively, a Graduate Degree with at least 10 years of experience, or 16 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
At least 5 years of supervisory experience is essential.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in additive manufacturing or 3D printing.
- Strong administrative capabilities, including talent selection, performance appraisal, and team development.
- Proficiency in optimizing manufacturing environments through effective use of process equipment and maintenance strategies.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate tasks efficiently, including the establishment and execution of standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of large-scale, multi-functional manufacturing operations management.
- Familiarity with design practices, manufacturing techniques, and inspection standards relevant to production.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to senior management.
- Proven leadership skills, with a focus on team building and effective direction.
- Understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices in a manufacturing context.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
