Position Overview

The Senior Financial Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role within the Corporate Accounting Department. This position involves supporting the month-end closing process, contributing to SG&A forecasting and analysis, and assisting with the maintenance of Oracle Meta Data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the month-end closing process and support SG&A forecasting and analysis.
  • Manage the creation and upkeep of SG&A cost center files for approximately 130 cost centers related to budgeting and forecasting.
  • Conduct analysis of all SG&A expenses and prepare presentations for quarterly and planning meetings.
  • Oversee various month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and record journal entries, including recurring entries and accruals.
  • Perform reconciliations and analyses of general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain Statistical Key Figures in SAP and conduct monthly assessments for SG&A and Plant actuals.
  • Assist in the upkeep of Metadata in Oracle.
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five years of professional accounting experience or related fields.
  • Proficiency in SAP is essential; familiarity with Oracle and GDW is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various peer groups and senior management.
  • Proactive in taking initiative and making impactful decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly with advanced Excel capabilities.
