Job Overview

Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Management:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive safety strategies to minimize risks on construction projects.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Identify potential hazards and develop plans to mitigate them.
  • Training and Development:
    • Design and deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors working on the project.
    • Ensure that all personnel are familiar with safety protocols, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
    • Ensure that the project adheres to industry regulations and standards.
  • Incident Management:
    • Investigate and report on safety incidents or accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
    • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues on the project.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including safety plans, risk assessments, and incident reports.
    • Ensure that all documentation is accurate, current, and accessible.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Monitor safety performance and make recommendations for improvement.
    • Stay informed about new safety technologies and practices, incorporating them into the project as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Certification in Safety Management (CSM)
  • At least 3 years of experience in construction within the MEP or built environment sector
  • At least 1-2 years in safety management, preferably in production, manufacturing, or related fields
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to work independently
  • A plus: Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field
