Construction Project Safety Specialist

Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year
Key Responsibilities- Safety Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety strategies to minimize risks on construction projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Identify potential hazards and develop plans to mitigate them.
- Training and Development:
- Design and deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors working on the project.
- Ensure that all personnel are familiar with safety protocols, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Ensure that the project adheres to industry regulations and standards.
- Incident Management:
- Investigate and report on safety incidents or accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues on the project.
- Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including safety plans, risk assessments, and incident reports.
- Ensure that all documentation is accurate, current, and accessible.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor safety performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay informed about new safety technologies and practices, incorporating them into the project as appropriate.
- Certification in Safety Management (CSM)
- At least 3 years of experience in construction within the MEP or built environment sector
- At least 1-2 years in safety management, preferably in production, manufacturing, or related fields
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to work independently
- A plus: Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field
