Risk Management Specialist for MEP Projects

About the Role:
Upchurch Companies seeks a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to oversee Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) aspects of projects within the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) sector.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will ensure a safe working environment, adhere to regulatory requirements, maintain all safety documentation, and implement best practices for safety across the project.
Responsibilities:
- Safety Management:
- Implement comprehensive safety plans and procedures for the project.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and company policies.
- Identify potential hazards and risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Training and Development:
- Plan and deliver safety training programs for all employees and subcontractors working on the project.
- Ensure that all personnel are familiar with safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards, and ensure that the project adheres to them.
- Incident Management:
- Investigate and report on any safety incidents or accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues on the project.
- Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including safety plans, risk assessments, and incident reports.
- Ensure that all documentation is accurate, current, and readily accessible.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor safety performance and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Stay informed about new safety technologies and practices, and incorporate them into the project as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Certification in Safety Management (CSM)
- At Least 3 years of experience in construction within MEP or Built Environment Sector
- At least 1-2 years in Safety Management preferably in production, manufacturing, or other related fields
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to self-start and work independently.
- A Plus: Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related field
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience, along with health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and professional development opportunities.
