POSITION SUMMARY:

Deliver comprehensive audiological services to both pediatric and adult outpatient populations. This includes gathering birth and medical histories, conducting assessments, providing counseling, and ensuring effective communication with medical and educational referral sources as necessary.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer thorough audiological services to outpatient clients, encompassing both pediatric and adult demographics. Responsibilities include obtaining birth and medical histories, performing evaluations, offering counseling, and maintaining communication with relevant medical and educational entities.
  • Conduct evaluations for hearing aids, including fittings, adjustments, and repairs, both in-house and through external processing. Educate patients on advanced hearing aid technologies and assistive listening devices, addressing any concerns or complaints regarding device functionality.
  • Perform cochlear implant candidacy assessments, initial activations, and follow-up programming/mapping, with a willingness to learn about various cochlear implant manufacturers.
  • Provide evidence-based care in accordance with national standards and guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing education regarding advancements in hearing aid and cochlear implant technologies, including training sessions provided by manufacturers.
  • Support the Director in community outreach initiatives by offering hearing screenings, educational lectures, and participating in local events aimed at senior organizations, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes.
  • Additional responsibilities may include clinical clerical tasks, supply management, and adherence to infection control protocols to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction and experience.
  • *Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor.
Requirements

• Master's Degree or Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (AuD), or Ph.D. from an accredited university program

• Massachusetts State Licensure

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association

• Minimum of three years of experience in pediatric and adult audiological services

• ASL fluency preferred; willingness to learn required
