Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Per Diem Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team temporarily, covering 20-24 hours per week during a leave of absence. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support the health and wellness of our students in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

About the Role

This position provides direct care, treatment, and medications to patients needing medical care. The successful candidate will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care according to the needs of each patient, based on appropriate standards of practice and relevant policies and procedures.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary care team meetings, refers to other Schacht Center providers, and collaborates with other disciplines at Smith College as needed.

  • Orders diagnostic and surveillance testing and referrals to specialty care as outlined by Health Services and College policies and procedures and best practices.

  • Prescribes medications and controlled substances according to applicable state and federal laws, best practices, and Schacht Center College Policy and Procedures.

  • Reviews relevant patient data and keeps necessary documentation, including patient assessments, care, progress notes, and any other required charting to maintain complete and accurate medical records.

  • Folllows universal precautions when exposed to blood and bodily fluids.

  • Provides appropriate immunizations and participates in immunization clinics as needed.

The ideal candidate will have active RN and APRN (FNP-C) licenses in Massachusetts, along with a Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration, DEA registration, and current CPR/BLS certification.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $110,000 - $140,000, depending on experience. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
