Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Collections Specialist to join our team at Discover Financial Services. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for servicing delinquent credit card accounts through various contact channels, minimizing losses to the company, and strengthening relationships with customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review past due accounts and contact customers to arrange acceptable payment programs.
  • Build rapport with cardmembers and work with customers to secure repayment on delinquent accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Handle difficult collection calls as determined by center management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of collections experience.
  • 2+ years of advanced-level experience in customer service, detail orientation, professionalism, verbal communication, collections, negotiation, compliance, and system/computer fluency.
  • 1+ years of working-level experience in listening skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of collections experience.
  • 2+ years of advanced-level experience in problem-solving and influencing.
  • 1+ years of working-level experience in decision-making.
