Job Description

We are seeking an experienced EMI Engineer to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a key member of our Navigation & Sensor Solutions Hardware Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing industry-leading navigation products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute onsite EMI testing and provide EMI design direction for GPS products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop EMI/EMC best practices
  • Design and develop GPS products with a focus on EMI/EMC compliance
  • Work closely with the Hardware Engineering teams at NSS and external test labs
Requirements:
  • Experience with EMI/EMC test and troubleshooting
  • Experience with EMI/EMC test equipment and filtering
  • Ability to generate EMI control plans, EMI test guidelines, EMI test procedures, and EMI test reports
  • Time management skills - ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, and coordinate work
  • Experience with hardware requirements capture, electrical design, and testing of electronics and circuits
  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (US Citizenship Required)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous EMI Lab experience
  • Ability to define and implement EMI/EMC requirements to meet specified product performance for all aspects of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) compliance
  • Experience in performing radiated and emitted analyses, and working with Zuken EMC Adviser tool or equivalent analytical EMC/EMI tool
  • Understanding of MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-704 test procedures and methods
