Position Overview:

As a Process Engineer within the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit, you will engage in pioneering Nuclear Fusion initiatives aimed at achieving net-zero energy production.

We seek professionals with backgrounds in nuclear fusion or transferable skills from sectors such as civil nuclear, pharmaceuticals, or oil and gas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute work packages for significant UK and international Nuclear Clients.
  • Design and assess Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Layout Drawings, and Specifications.
  • Conduct thorough analyses and calculations for Fusion and Modular Nuclear Systems.
  • Deliver high-quality engineering solutions across various Process Engineering domains.
  • Engage in communication and provide insights to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager.
  • Perform requirements gathering, conceptual design, and detailed design activities.
  • Collaborate with other engineering functions and disciplines to develop integrated solutions.
  • Manage your schedule to adhere to established timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality benchmarks.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
  • A degree in Process or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Chartered Engineer status or progress towards Chartership with a recognized institution.
  • Experience in nuclear fusion, the nuclear sector, or other regulated industries such as thermal power generation and oil and gas.
  • Knowledge of process plant design, flow calculations, pipe stress analysis, and FEED for process plants.
  • Proven experience in designing and validating process engineering solutions.
  • Familiarity with UK Health and Safety regulations, safety systems, and HAZOP methodologies.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools.

Additional Information:
Security clearances such as BPSS and SC are required.
Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
