Job Description and Duties

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Emergency Services Coordinator to join our team at the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES). As a key member of our Recovery Support Functions I Unit in Mather, you will play a critical role in the planning, development, implementation, and coordination of emergency management operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete technical, analytical, and research assignments relevant to emergency management operations, including disaster assistance grant programs and recovery efforts.
  • Understand the recovery structures and resources of State and federal governments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that empower residents of California.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as emergency management, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency management, disaster response, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Working Conditions:

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which includes up to two days of remote work per week. Additional in-office days may be required based on business needs.

Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. A valid Driver's License (DL) is necessary, and you must provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and requires completion of Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.
