Overview: The primary responsibility of this role is to uphold the cleanliness standards of the clinics and administrative facilities. This involves executing various cleaning tasks diligently as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Supervisory Duties: This position does not entail any supervisory responsibilities.

Key Requirements: All tasks must be performed accurately and within the designated timeframes.

  1. Conducts thorough inspections of both the interior and exterior of the facilities, promptly notifying the Facilities Maintenance team of any issues or concerns.
  2. Maintains an adequate supply of necessary items by placing weekly orders as needed.
  3. Follows the policies and procedures established by Gonzaba Medical Group.
  4. Prioritizes safety at all times, adhering to prescribed safety protocols.
  5. Collaborates effectively with team members to achieve departmental objectives and foster positive working relationships.
  6. Performs additional duties as assigned that are pertinent to the role.
  7. Maintains strict confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Conducts routine cleaning of exam rooms, nursing stations, offices, clinical areas, waiting rooms, conference spaces, event centers, lobbies, lounges/breakrooms, restrooms, corridors, and outdoor benches, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment. This includes:
    • Emptying all waste containers and replacing liners as necessary, disposing of trash in the designated dumpster.
    • Cleaning and mopping all hard surface floors.
    • Disinfecting restrooms using appropriate supplies, including sinks, counters, toilets, mirrors, and fixtures, and completing restroom logs post-service.
    • Restocking toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and hand sanitizer in all restrooms, exam rooms, and breakroom areas as applicable.
    • Vacuuming carpeted areas as required.
    • Utilizing damp, disinfectant-treated cloths, dusters, and/or vacuum cleaners to dust windowsills, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment in an organized manner.
    • Removing smudges from doors and walls as necessary.
    • Disinfecting hard surfaces such as countertops, dispensers, fixtures, and furniture throughout the facilities.
    • Cleaning the interiors of appliances.
    • Cleaning baseboards.
    • Removing and disposing of soiled linens and replenishing them in designated areas.
    • Preparing coffee for patients and staff in the morning.
    • Gathering all materials and supplies from the supply room for transport to work areas.
  2. Lifting and transporting bulky items such as supplies, waste containers, mop buckets, etc., as required for daily tasks.
  3. Working day, evening, or night shifts as assigned.
  4. Utilizing appropriate chemicals and supplies according to established procedures provided by Gonzaba Medical Group.
  5. This position may require driving a company or personal vehicle; therefore, candidates must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check and possess a valid Texas Driver License along with proof of current insurance for mileage reimbursement eligibility.
Education and Training: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Other Requirements: Computer Skills: Familiarity with word processing software, internet usage, and database software is beneficial.

Work Environment: Depending on the assigned area, the work environment may be entirely clinical or office-based within a clinic setting. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions typical of a clinic environment may occur.

Mental / Physical Requirements: This role requires manual dexterity, the ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, bend, and walk. Candidates may need to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are necessary. The ability to work efficiently under pressure is essential.
