Position Overview:
A Certified Clinical Addiction Counselor (CCAC) focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals facing challenges with substance use disorders and behavioral addictions. The CCAC utilizes a range of therapeutic methods to assist clients in overcoming addiction, cultivating healthy coping mechanisms, and achieving sustainable recovery.

Primary Duties:
  • Evaluation and Diagnosis:
    Perform thorough evaluations to assess the nature and severity of clients' substance use and addiction challenges. Utilize standardized criteria and tools to diagnose substance use disorders. Create tailored treatment plans that align with client objectives and requirements.

Therapeutic Approaches:
  • Deliver individual, group, and family therapy employing evidence-based methodologies for addiction recovery.
    Implement therapeutic strategies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and relapse prevention techniques. Assist clients in acquiring skills for sobriety, managing stress, and handling triggers.
Crisis Management:
Respond to urgent situations involving clients in distress due to substance use or addiction-related concerns. Provide immediate assistance and intervention to ensure client safety and stability. Collaborate with other professionals and organizations to facilitate crisis care.
Service Coordination:
Organize services and resources for clients, encompassing medical, psychiatric, and social support. Advocate for clients to guarantee they receive suitable care and assistance. Monitor and assess client progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary.
Education and Outreach:
Inform clients and their families about substance use disorders, treatment alternatives, and recovery techniques. Conduct community outreach and prevention initiatives to enhance awareness about addiction and available resources. Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in addiction counseling and treatment.
Record Keeping and Compliance:
Maintain precise and confidential client documentation, including assessment reports, treatment plans, and progress notes. Prepare and submit necessary documentation and reports promptly. Ensure adherence to all legal and ethical standards in documentation and practice.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid CCAC license in the state of practice.
  • At least 2 years of supervised clinical experience in addiction counseling.
  • In-depth knowledge of addiction treatment methods and evidence-based practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Dedication to continuous professional development and education.
