Job Summary:

As a Patient Financial Counselor at Trinity Health, you will play a critical role in determining patient liability and providing financial assistance to those in need. This position requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimate patient liability on accounts and evaluate credit histories
Counsel patients on cost of treatment, insurance benefits, and financial assistance options
Secure and document payment arrangements
Verify and update patient demographic information on registration and billing systems
Audit bills for accuracy and collect deposits and payments

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of specialized training
One to two years of progressively more responsible related work experience
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and patient billing procedures
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients and families
