About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Veterinarian to lead our team at WellHaven Pet Health Downtown Vancouver. As a key member of our hospital, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional veterinary care, leading our team, and driving business results.

Key Responsibilities
  • High-Quality Care and Service: Ensure consistent, high-quality care and safe medical services to maintain a positive hospital environment and uphold medical standards.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Partner with the Practice Manager to support hospital operations, lead talent acquisition, training, and development of employees, and implement effective communication strategies to foster employee engagement.
  • Client and Employee Relations: Effectively resolve client and employee conflicts, ensure current licensures for all applicable employees, and maintain thorough and accurate medical charts.
  • Community Outreach and Marketing: Take responsibility for community outreach, events, and external marketing efforts to promote the hospital.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required, with 5+ years practicing as a DVM in a hospital setting and prior experience training associate doctors and paraprofessional staff.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to uphold integrity and ethics, develop direct reports, stay current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, and drive for results.
