Job Summary

The Student Ambassador role at Banfield Pet Hospital is a unique opportunity for a student in a veterinary medicine program to serve as a liaison between their university and an assigned Banfield Medical Director. As a Student Ambassador, you will be responsible for promoting awareness of Banfield's mission and vision among peers and faculty, and assisting the Student Programs team in arranging campus visits and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent Banfield Pet Hospital: Serve as a professional representative of Banfield Pet Hospital, promoting the company's mission and vision among peers and faculty.
  • Proactively Promote Awareness: Proactively promote awareness of Banfield's mission and vision among peers and faculty, and answer questions from faculty and student body regarding Banfield.
  • Assist with Campus Visits: Assist the Student Programs team in arranging campus visits and events, including distributing materials, posting announcements, reserving meeting rooms, arranging catering, preparing giveaways, and all other event details.
  • Participate in Presentations: Participate in presentations on campus and provide follow-up with students and Banfield.
  • Distribute Collateral: Distribute Banfield flyers, posters, e-flyers, and other collateral to faculty and student body of Ambassador's school as allowed by school's vendor policy.
  • Inform Student Programs Team: Inform the Student Program team of student activities and functions that may serve as a venue for Banfield participation (i.e. Job Fairs, Open House, SCAVMA activities).
  • Attend Conferences and Meetings: Attend Banfield sponsored conferences and educational meetings when appropriate.
  • Communicate with Student Programs Team: Keep an open line of communication with Student Programs team and assigned Banfield Medical Director.
  • Other Job Duties: Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Veterinary Medicine Program: Be enrolled as a student in a veterinary medicine program at a School or College of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to Multitask: Be able to multitask and manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Ability to Problem-Solve: Be able to identify, analyze, and solve problems.

Working Conditions

  • Mental Demands: Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability to perform the duties proficiently.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Work in an environment where pets are present.
