Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating vehicle systems with an emphasis on adhering to cybersecurity industry standards and best practices.
  • Executing thorough vehicle testing protocols to verify the integrity of data networks and Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
  • Programming and diagnosing embedded devices within the vehicle framework.
  • Applying expertise in Controller Area Network (CAN) bus systems to ensure efficient communication among Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
  • Examining vehicle network traffic to identify vulnerabilities and fault conditions.
  • Interpreting vehicle data to enhance performance and pinpoint potential maintenance issues within subsystems.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design and incorporate innovative technologies and systems into current ground vehicle platforms.
  • Keeping updated with the latest trends and advancements in automotive engineering and integrating this knowledge into your work.
  • Documenting all stages of the engineering process, from initial design through to final testing.

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline is required, along with 5 years of relevant experience. A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Ground vehicle engineering, with practical experience in vehicle testing.
  • Understanding of CAN bus systems and their role in vehicle communication networks.
  • Proficiency in programming for embedded devices, primarily in C and C++. Experience with automotive embedded frameworks such as AUTOSAR is advantageous.
  • Ability to debug embedded device software and hardware using tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, electronic systems, and data communication between ECUs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a team setting and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with vehicle data collection and simulation tools such as Intrepid Vehicle Spy and Vector Canoe.
