Role Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Work Schedule: 12-hour Night Shifts, Rotating Weekends.
  • Unit Capacity: 18 Beds
  • Patient Demographics: Individuals with various stages of renal disease, including Chronic Kidney Disease, Acute Renal Failure, and End-Stage Renal Disease requiring dialysis.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all unit functions during the assigned shift. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in line with established protocols, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities in this Role:

  • Facilitate admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Engage in ongoing assessments of the quality of care provided in the unit, collaborating with management team members.
  • Work with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a teamwork environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
  • Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery as needed.
  • Support facility engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly rounds.
  • Provide input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommend and implement actions related to training, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
  • Ensure proper inventory management and assist with the oversight of supplies and equipment.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of one year as a Registered Nurse or relevant experience.
  • Preferred Experience: One year of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with completion of a BSN within five years of hire. Grandfathering accepted between departments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions may be approved by the facility CNO. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt.
  • Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • License: Active Registered Nurse license in the state(s) of practice, or an active compact license as per regulations. Must maintain current licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact) license may apply; licensee should verify with NCBON.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
